Passkey Office protects Excel, Word and PowerPoint files on Windows with Windows Hello. Right-click a file and choose Protect with this PC: the file gets a strong password, and from then on a double-click opens it after a Windows Hello check (face, fingerprint or PIN) instead of a typed password.
So that a reset Windows Hello or a new PC never locks you out, every file password is backed up before the file is locked: to your 1Password, or, if you don't use 1Password, to a hidden app folder in your own Google Drive. Passkey Office has no server of its own.
